Specifications

Where PR 3 excels — and where to check carefully

Pigment Red 3 is the most economical monoazo red in the Chemrad range, prized for its clean, bright, yellowish-red masstone and reliable dispersion in water-based systems. Lightfastness and heat stability are limited compared to naphthol or azo lake reds — avoid high-aromatic solvent systems and processing temperatures above 140 °C. Best suited to water-based decorative paints, stationery inks, and indoor-use plastics at low loadings rather than exterior or high-heat applications.
