A deep, brilliant bluish-red manganese azo lake delivering exceptional colour depth and tinting strength. The preferred grade for high-quality packaging inks requiring clean deep-red shades, with better lightfastness than calcium and barium lake alternatives.
PR 48:4 is a monoazo manganese lake pigment offering significantly better lightfastness than the calcium (PR 57:1) and barium (PR 53:1) alternatives — a critical advantage for packaging applications with shelf-life light exposure. Its 220 °C heat stability also enables use in plastics compounding, beyond the reach of most azo lake reds. Specify PR 48:4 wherever a deep, brilliant bluish-red packaging ink needs to hold its colour over time.

The preferred manganese lake for high-quality flexo and gravure packaging inks requiring a deep, clean bluish-red with good shelf-life light stability.
Excellent tinting strength and transparency for offset and flexographic printing systems where a deep red masstone is specified.
Used in industrial and general-purpose coatings requiring a deep red shade with better durability than standard azo lakes.
220 °C heat stability permits use in indoor plastics compounding and textile printing where deeper reds than typical azo lakes are needed.
PR 48:4 is supplied as dry powder for milling into offset, flexo, and gravure ink vehicles. Contact us to discuss presscake or dispersion grades for your specific ink or coating system.
Registered under EU REACH regulation. Full SDS available on request for compliance documentation.
Contains no lead, cadmium, mercury, or chromium VI. The manganese lake structure is outside the RoHS-restricted metals list.
